The importance of positive, quality friendships for boosting increased happiness and resilience.

It's no surprise that children who enjoy positive, quality friendships are more likely to experience:

  • Higher happiness

  • Positive self-esteem

  • Resilience

  • More life satisfaction

And, less likely to experience…

  • Loneliness

  • Depression

  • Victimisation

  • Academic underachievement

Helping children find their tribe is integral...

For their social and emotional development

But knowing what makes a good friend can sometimes feel cloudy...

Yesterday marked International Friendship Day

and to celebrate, this week’s theme is all about…

What makes a good friend.

Have you/your child ever experienced...

candle blower outer?

When shining bright,

Someone tried to put out that light?

We can not love these words by Brené Brown enough

It sums up what makes a good friend, as well as our mission at Ignite Yoga:

To inspire and empower children to IGNITE the light within; to be the brightest version of themselves.

We can’t wait to share it with your children.

Surround Yourself With People Who Won’t Blow Out Your Candle

“I thought about something I taught my kids when they were in elementary school … I used to ask them to cup their hands and put them in front of me. And I said, ‘In your hand is your flame. It’s your soul. It’s your light. You need to surround yourself with friends who, when your light is shining bright, don’t feel the need to blow it out.” ~ (Brene Brown, Atlas of the Heart.)
